Currently the most cost-effective chemistry on the market, Nickel Cadmium batteries give you more watt-hours of operation (per shift) for the least amount of money. These versatile batteries can operate under extreme conditions of cold or heat (-30C to +50C). NiCd's major drawback is its susceptibility to memory effect, or its propensity to "forget" and not utilize its full capacity.
